Servant Scholars 2015
Shay is a rising junior at Claflin University who calls Rock Hill, SC her home. She is currently studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, and is eager to serve vulnerable families while interning at Safe Harbor women’s shelter.
Will is a Charlotte, NC native and a rising senior at Furman University. He is a pre-med biology major with a passion for children and pediatrics. This summer Will is serving the Taylors Free Clinic Medical as a Patient Services intern.
Andrew hails from Sumter, SC and is a rising junior at Furman University. He is a Health Sciences major who is spending his summer as the Prosthetics and Orthotics Intern at Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Sun is a rising sophomore at Furman University, originally from Daegu, South Korea. Sun is a Health Sciences major and is excited to gain experience in his desired field while interning in the Physical Therapy unit of Bon Secours Hospital System.
Sandy is from Green Pond, SC and recently graduated from Claflin University’s Sociology Department. She now intends to pursue a Masters of Social Work and is excited to draw on experiences in education while interning at Greenville Literacy Association for the summer.
Shaquittais a resident of North Charleston, SC and recent graduate of Claflin University. She studied Sociology and Humanities, and plans to pursue her MSW degree in the fall. Shaquitta will be caring for vulnerable women and children who have experienced domestic abuse while she is serving at Safe Harbor women’s shelter this summer.
Blake is a rising senior at Furman University. He is a Business and Religion double major from Chattanooga, TN. Blake is interested in market-based solutions to poverty and will be interning with Nasha Lending, a Christian microfinance organization.
